Tim O’Brien

Btech HUB Manager

As the Bank Consortium Hub Manager, Tim O’Brien brings over 24 years of bank experience as a sell-side analyst and consultant to Strandview Capital.  Tim has provided consulting services to community banks, broker/dealers and chemical manufacturing companies.  His consulting work ranged from modeling business valuations and assisting with strategic forecasting and planning, to investor relations outreach, messaging and communications.  Prior to this, Tim spent 15 years as an equity research analyst covering small and midcap banks for Sandler O’Neill + Partners out of their San Francisco office. During his tenure at Sandler, his financial modeling and forecasting work earned him “Best on the Street” and “Financial Bank Stock Challenge” accolades from the Wall Street Journal and SNL Financial.

Tim began his career in government and politics. He served as a staff analyst to the California State Treasurer on the Local Agency Investment Fund (“LAIF”), the State Time Deposit Program and the boards of CalPERS and CalSTRS.  Prior to this, he served as a program coordinator for the California State Controller and a budget analyst for the Mayor of Los Angeles.

Tim received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the Haas School of Business. He has been an active volunteer in his local community and with the Boy Scouts of America.
